Merchants often include a phone call when completing a transaction. It
leaves the customer with the impression that the merchant cares enough
to give them individual attention, while giving the merchant a chance
to feel out their legitimacy. Offenders sometimes list the actual phone
number of the cardholder, which can resolve the problem instantly.
